A jumbo mortgage is a type of mortgage loan that exceeds the conforming loan limits set by the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA). In most of the United States, the conforming loan limit for a single-family home is $548,250 as of 2021. Any mortgage loan that exceeds this limit is considered a jumbo mortgage.
